Current status

We've identified that a recent update to the Microsoft 365 Copilot app changed how it handles SharePoint and OneDrive sign-in requests and is causing the affected requests to be passed to the app in an older format, resulting in authentication failures when users open the cloud file picker to add knowledge. We're deploying a code fix that we've developed and we estimate that it'll complete deployment by our next scheduled communications update.

More info

Specifically, opening the SharePoint and OneDrive file picker to add knowledge fails with the following message:
"Failed to authenticate. Please try again."

To bypass impact, users may go to Knowledge, then Add knowledge, paste the SharePoint and OneDrive file or site URL into the search box instead of using the cloud picker.

Scope of impact

Users located in Europe, United State, and Japan attempting to open the SharePoint Online and OneDrive file picker in Agent Builder within Microsoft Copilot may be impacted by this event. This section may be updated as our investigation continues.

When Microsoft 365 goes down

The live overview shows the current state of every Microsoft 365 service, refreshed every minute from Microsoft Graph.

To see whether your own tenant is affected, check Service health in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Only a backup outside Microsoft protects against data loss, and only a tested break-glass account against locked-out admins. We set up both in fixed-scope sprints.
